The Dockweiler Medal in Philosophy

The award is presented each year to the student who submits the best essay on a philosophical theme. Award winners receive an attractive medal, originally designed and cast by Tiffany and Co.  Annual bestowal of the Dockweiler Award was made possible by a generous bequest from the Dockweiler family of Los Angeles.
 

The John A. Oesterle Award in Philosophy 

This award is presented, when merited, to the graduating philosophy major or majors who have so excelled their classmates in the study of philosophy as to be worthy of special recognition. The award honors the memory of a much beloved member of the philosophy faculty.
