The Philosophy and Theology Departments are asking you to help make a great Thanksgiving Holiday for families in Northern Indiana by either donating non-perishable items or making a monetary donation.

HOW YOU CAN HELP:
1.) Please bring your non-perishable items and drop them in the orange containers located at any of the three entrances to Malloy Hall.  Donations will be accepted until November 17.

2.) If you wish to make a financial donation, follow this link:  MAKE A DONATION   When filling out the form, please write in the COMMENT SECTION: Malloy Hall Food Drive.

NORTHERN INDIANA FOOD BANK FACTS:

  • In northern Indiana, nearly 90,000 or 12.3% of its residents are food insecure. Nearly 29,000 children or 16% reside in food insecure households. These individuals often don’t know when they will eat their next meal.  Hunger is a community health, school performance and economic issue and exists in every county in the United States.
  • The Food Bank of Northern Indiana serves Elkhart, Kosciusko, LaPorte, Marshall, Starke and St. Joseph Counties.  The Food Bank works with a network of 125 food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters and daycare facilities who directly serve clients in need. In 2020, the Food Bank distributed 11.9 million pounds of food.
  • For every dollar donated, the Food Bank of Northern Indiana can purchase up to 5 lbs. of food or up to 4 meals for someone in need.

MOST NEEDED ITEMS:

Breakfast Cereal, Boxed Meal Helpers (Alfredo, Beef Pasta, Cheeseburger, Cheesy Tuna and Lasagna), Macaroni and Cheese, Boxed Potatoes (Au Gratin and Mashed), Canned Beef Stew and Ravioli, Canned Chicken and Tuna, Canned Fruit (Apple Sauce, Mixed Fruit, Peaches and Pears), Canned Soup (Chicken Noodle, Cream of Mushroom, Tomato and Vegetable), Canned Vegetables (Corn, Green Beans, Mixed Vegetables, Sliced Carrots, Sweet Peas), Pancake Mix and Syrup, Spaghetti and Spaghetti Sauce,  Personal Care Items (Bar Soap, Body Wash, Deodorant, Shampoo, Toothbrushes and Toothpaste), Cleaning Supplies.

*No glass containers AND No perishable food items, please.
