I am a Postdoctoral Fellow in the History and Philosophy of Science Program at the University of Notre Dame. I got my Ph.D. in philosophy of science from the same program. My dissertation adviser was Anjan Chakravartty. I got an M.A. in philosophy from Shahid Beheshti University (Tehran, Iran) and a B.Sc. in Mining Engineering from Isfahan University of Technology (Isfahan, Iran).

In my dissertation “Theoretical Virtues in Science and Metaphysics,” I study the role of theoretical virtues in scientific and metaphysical theorizing. In particular, I aim to see whether theoretical virtues of scientific theories can be used in metaphysics and if yes, under what conditions such usage is fruitful and justifiable.
