Midwest PhilMath Workshop (MWPMW 10)
-
The tenth annual Midwest PhilMath Workshop (MWPMW 10) will be held at Notre Dame the weekend of Saturday, October 10th and Sunday, October 11th. As usual, the plan is to schedule a full day of talks and discussions for Saturday and a half day for Sunday. In conjunction with this year's workshop, we're planning a special Friday afternoon (4pm starting time) meeting of our regular Logic Seminar. The topic will be set theory and Hugh Woodin, Tony Martin and Nik Weaver will make presentations. Further details will follow when the program for the workshop is set in September.
If you would like to give a talk at the workshop, please email a pdf of it or a substantial summary of it to Paddy (blanchette.1@nd.edu), Tim (bays.5@nd.edu), Curtis (cfranks@nd.edu) and me (mdetlef1@nd.edu). We would like to have all proposals for talks by the first week of September so that we can set the program by September 10th. Talks should be 35--40 minutes, with 15--20 minutes left for discussion.
We're fortunate to have Mrs. Harriet Baldwin (baldwin.1@nd.edu) as the workshop manager once again this year. Please contact her with any questions you may have concerning rooms, meals, etc.. She has booked a block of rooms for the workshop. Since there are other conferences going on the same weekend, demand for rooms may be high and it would thus be a good idea to reserve a room with Harriet as soon as possible. Please also indicate to her whether you will be joining us for dinner Saturday evening, and let her know if you have any special dietary requirements. She can also point you to pertinent travel information, maps, etc..As usual, there are funds (in the form of room vouchers) to assist students from departments that are unable to cover their expenses. Please contact Mrs. Baldwin to complete the arrangements.
We warmly welcome all interested persons to attend. All participants are invited to join us for the customary Saturday evening workshop dinner as guests of the university. If you would like to join us, please email Mrs. Baldwin and let her know.
