History and Philosophy of Science
The History and Philosophy of Science Program at the University of Notre Dame is one of a handful of programs in the United States that offers graduate-level instruction up to the Ph.D. in the field of the history and philosophy of science.
The five year program draws upon the resources of three important research centers at Notre Dame: the Reilly Center for Science, Technology, and Values; the Center for the Philosophy of Religion; and the Medieval Institute.
Joint Ph.D. in Logic and Foundations of Mathematics
Researchers in the Mathematics Department and the Philosophy Department at Notre Dame offer a joint Ph.D. in the general areas of logic and the foundations of mathematics.
